Lucca was a bomb detection bomb that served for 6 years. She was deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan, in that time she successfully completed over 400 missions with no human casualties.
In Luccas time working she lost her front left leg in an accident.
She officially retired in 2012 and passed away in 2018 at the age of 14.
My goal in this art work was to appreciate and remember one of the many dogs that have aided people throughout history.
