HDR Development Program

Expand your horizons, sharpen your research skills, and connect with your peers through Graduate Research School's HDR Development Program. Below are this semester’s training and development opportunities, wellbeing initiatives, events, and writing intensives.

Skills Development Framework

Each HDR Development workshop aligns with at least one skill in the Researcher Development Skills Framework (RDSF). The Q Reference (e.g. Q1.2) indicates which skills are addressed in the workshop. Online workshops are recorded at the discretion of the workshop presenter with the recording shared with registrants. Wellbeing sessions are not recorded.

Workshops

How to Navigate the HDR Development Program: The HDR Development Program of workshops is organised using UC’s Researcher Development Skills Framework and is designed to help you choose the right training for your degree stage. Each workshop is mapped to a skill quadrant and a degree stage so you can select sessions that align with your candidature and development goals.
  • Foundation (Commencement to Confirmation): Build essential skills, develop core research practices, and gain confidence as an emerging researcher.
  • Development (Mid鈥慍andidature): Deepen expertise, refine your research approach, and strengthen professional capabilities.
  • Advanced (Final Year and Beyond): Focus on completion, leadership, dissemination, and preparing for post鈥慔DR pathways.
Use the filters in the booking form below to browse workshops by skill area and degree stage. This helps you quickly identify training aligned to where you are in your HDR journey.

If you prefer, you’re also welcome to attend workshops more flexibly — selecting any sessions that interest you or support your immediate needs. The structured pathway is there to guide you, but the program is designed to remain open, adaptable, and responsive to your goals.
